Dr. Theresa W. Whibley, MD

Dr. Whibley is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been practicing in Norfolk since 1987.  She received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed a clinical fellowship with the Howard and Georgeanna Jones Institute of Reproductive Medicine. 

 Prior to Dr. Whibley receiving her medical degree she taught History with the Onslow County Public Schools in Jackson, NC and was a Reading Specialist with the Virginia Beach Public School System.  From 1998 until 2006 she served as a member and chair of the Norfolk School Board.  Previously, she served on the College Board and Foundation Board of TCC and was a founding member and chair of the Advisory Board of TCC Women’s Centers.  In 2006 Dr. Whibley was elected to the Norfolk City Council and has been an advocate for the no smoking ban.  She is also on the Board of Visitors for EVMS.   

Dr. Whibley resides in Norfolk with her husband Rod.  They have two children, Meredith who lives in Boston with her husband and their two children, and Josh who lives in Norfolk.  In her free time Dr. Whibley enjoys, golf, cycling, reading, traveling and spending time with her family. 

 

Rachel Rotenberry, WHNP

Rachel Rotenberry, our nurse practitioner, received her Diploma of Nursing from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital School of Professional Nursing.  She later obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and her Master of Science in Nursing from ODU.  Rachel has practiced in the field of obstetrics and gynecology since 1986. 

Rachel’s role in our practice includes, performing annual gyn exams and obstetrical care for both prenatal and postpartum patients.  She has a great interest in educating patients in the various forms of birth control, sexually transmitted diseases and hormone replacement therapy management. 

Rachel resides in Virginia Beach with her husband Dan and son Nicolas.  In her free time she enjoys all types of music, reading, gardening and of course spending time with her family.  

 

Sharon Finefrock, CNM

Sharon is our Certified Nurse Midwife with over thirty five years of nursing experience in Women’s Health.   Sharon plays an important roll in the care of our obstetrical patients from their prenatal and postpartum care to delivering their newborns.   Her role with the practice also includes seeing patients for their yearly gyn exams, contraceptive counseling and management, including IUD insertion, and hormone replacement therapy management. 

Sharon received her Nursing Diploma from Creighton Memorial St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha Nebraska.  She later went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Master of Science in Nursing/ Nurse Midwifery from Georgetown University, Washington, DC.

Sharon lives in Virginia Beach with her husband John.  They have two daughters, Katie and Ann both of whom are married.  Ann is a second year Internal Medicine student at Chapel Hill.  Katie owns “The Dressing Room” in Farmville, Virginia. In her free time Sharon enjoys, reading, gardening and traveling.
